Devo - Freedom Of Choice download album

Freedom of Choice is the third studio album by the American new wave band Devo. It was originally released in May 1980 on the label Warner Bros. The album contained their biggest hit to date, "Whip It". Freedom of Choice was recorded between October 1979 and early 1980, at the Record Plant in Hollywood, California. The album saw the band moving in more of an overt synthpop direction, even though guitars still played a prominent role.

Album: Freedom Of Choice (1980). Get the Sheet Music License This Song. Devo was founded by Jerry Casale and Mark Mothersbaugh, who met at Kent State University. Here's what Jerry told us about this song: "We loved that song very much when we were creating it. It was about how people were throwing away their freedom of choice into meaningless choices like between Pepsi and Coke, or pink fur shoes or blue suede shoes. That was a very Devo position - Freedom Of Choice is what you've got, Freedom From Choice is what you want. The lyrics about the dog in ancient Rome who had two bones are based on an old Aesop's fable about a dog that's walking across a bridge with a bone in his mouth. He looks down in the water and sees another dog with a bone, and he gets so upset that he finally goes to attack the other dog and loses his bone.

It contains Devo's most well-known song, "Whip I. This album is the third that they made in 78-81, and is an important album in their discography. The themes of the lyrics and sound style Devo's music was affiliated with the synth pop movement of the 1980's, but their sound was more unique and distinct than the rest of the synth pop.
